Denny Crum's 1993-1994 team entered the season with a high expectations and a lofty #7 ranking. The Cardinals were loaded with talent. Six of their players would go on to play in the NBA. Led by Clifford Rozier and Dwayne Morton, U of L steamrolled their way to the Metro regular season championship and Metro tournament championship finishing the season 24-5.
That record earned the Cardinal the No. 3 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament where they beat Boise State and Minnesota to earn a trip to the Sweet 16. A loss to No. 2 seed Arizona ended Louisville's season. The Cardinals ended the season ranked #10 in the Final AP Poll.
